First of all, who the f*&$k are you, Andrew, calling things Stupid? And what's Stupid anyway? We probably all have our own benchmarks, but here's mine. I always return to it when I'm in trouble. [click for video, AVI DivX req'd]

That was a TV advertisement for instant mashed potato that was very popular in the 1970s in Britain. In it, extra terrestrials were laughing at us for peeling, boiling and mashing potatoes, when we could arrive at mashed potatoes much quicker using a packaged dehydrated formula at the time known only to Cadbury's… and Martians.

But if extra terrestrials really did land on Earth, and by definition they'd be technically more advanced than us, what technological deficiencies of ours would they be laughing at?

(Some of you may be wondering why these extra terrestrials seem to be composed of parts of kitchen utensils. But in the 1970s, that wasn't unusual. If you remember Blake's Seven, the spaceships were made of Papier Mache and used toilet rolls: it made for a sort of Upstairs Downstairs drama. But let's not allow that to distract us, here)

You probably have a few of your own, but here are a few of my favorites.
